Get to know us!

Amy Potratz (left) and Cortney MacTaggart (right)

We are best friends who are moms first and breastfeeding experts second. Way back in 2013, we found each other while interning together at a private-practice lactation business. After bonding over a mutual love of coffee, Qdoba, breastfeeding, and babies, we knew some day that we wanted to find a way to continue to support moms and babies through their unique breastfeeding journeys.

We have traveled the world together, have 8 kids between our two families, and have a combined 14 years of personal breastfeeding experience. We are both International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC’s) with a wide breadth of experience between us with focuses on latch problems, nipple pain, oral structure, and long-term breastfeeding success.

If you’re having breastfeeding problems, questions, or just need some mom support, please reach out to us. We will help to craft an individualized breastfeeding plan that helps you meet your goals and feel empowered. We know it is hard to get out of pajamas, let alone out of the house when you have a new baby. The best part is that we will come to you (and you can stay in your pajamas!). Call, text, or email us today for a home visit.

Meet Amy

Amy has been married for 20 years and is the mom of 4 daughters. She nursed all of them for varying lengths of time. She became most interested in lactation after her fourth when she began interning at a private practice lactation business. She is an RN BSN with previous experience on a Women’s Health/OBGYN floor at UNMC. She has been an IBCLC for 7 years and has experience with private practice lactation consulting. She is currently the Chair of the Nebraska Breastfeeding Coalition. In her spare time (ha!), Amy enjoys going on date nights with her hubby and playing games with her family.

Meet Cortney

Cortney has been married for 6 years and is a mom of 4 kids, two boys and two girls. She nursed babies for a total for 7 combined years and became interested in lactation when her first child had a missed tongue tie for 9 months and she struggled with breastfeeding. After finding a private-practice lactation company to intern with, she spent the next 2 years obtaining a Master’s Degree in Human Lactation and Health and Wellness. Cortney also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and is currently in Nursing School to become a Registered Nurse. She has been an IBCLC for 5 years and has experience working as an IBCLC both in the United States and overseas as well as having NICU experience and outpatient/private-practice experience. Cortney is currently the Project Coordinator for the Nebraska Breastfeeding Coalition. Cortney enjoys travelling, playing in the yard with her kids, and gardening with her husband.
